Scott G. Erpelding, M.D.
Scott G. Erpelding, MD is a board-certified urologist who treats all aspects of adult urology. He attended medical school at the University of North Dakota and completed his urology residency at the University of Kentucky. He has been practicing in Idaho since 2019. He practiced at St. Luke’s in Boise for 4 years prior to moving to Idaho Falls in 2023. His goal has always been to provide a full spectrum of quality and compassionate urologic care to his community.
More recently, he obtained an MBA from Boise State University with an emphasis in healthcare leadership. He hopes to lead the next generation of healthcare to help deliver quality care to patients outside of his reach in the exam room. He has received an additional 140 hours of training in Functional Medicine and encompasses a holistic approach to healthcare when appropriate.
He treats both men and women for common urologic issues including BPH, kidney stones, hematuria, and urologic malignancies. During his tenure in Boise, he had a high-volume robotics practice, which allowed him to gain experience using the da Vinci® robotic surgery platform for malignancy, BPH, and reconstructive urology. He is one of only a few urologists in the state who offer this scope of robotic surgery, including robotic radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, robotic-assisted simple prostatectomy, robotic pyeloplasty, ureteral reimplants, and buccal-augmented ureteral repairs. Additionally, he offers both percutaneous and ureteroscopic approaches for the management of complex kidney stones.
He has extensive experience in BPH (enlarged prostate), complex kidney stones, vasectomy, and reconstructive urology. He also has additional training in prosthetic urology including placement of penile implants and artificial urinary sphincters.
When he is not taking care of his patients, you’ll find him spending time with his family. His hobbies include fly-fishing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and photography.
