Jacob B. Thatcher, D.O.

Dr. Jacob B. Thatcher completed his urologic surgery residency at Jefferson Health. Originally from Rexburg, he offers world class care to his friends and family in Southeastern Idaho. He specializes in treating stone disease, erectile dysfunction, male infertility, benign prosthetic hyperplasia (BPH), and male and female incontinence. He offers novel techniques in minimally invasive robotic surgery for benign and malignant conditions to promote quicker recovery. 

Jacob grew up on a potato farm. Prior to practicing urology, he was a missionary in Brazil and a river-guide on the Colorado River. He completed medical school in Washington State with an emphasis in Osteopathic Medicine and holistic care. In addition to medical school and residency, he has diversified his medical training in Alaska, California, Uganda, and the Philippines. 

As a prior Fellow for the National Rural Health Association, Paul Ambrose Scholar, and a current distinguished Holtgrewe Legislative Fellow at the American Urological Association, Dr. Thatcher is a national leader in advocating for specialized urologic care in our rural communities. He most cherishes his wife, four children, his relationship with God and the amazing outdoors. He speaks fluent Portuguese and conversational Spanish.
